Natural Acne Diet
Your body digests foods by breaking them down into simple carbohydrates or simple sugars. These sugars are then sent via your bloodstream to wherever energy is needed in your body. The problem occurs when you eat a lot of candy, and refined sugary foods. When you consume these types of foods, they are already simple sugars which means that your body does not have to break them down any further and can make use of them right away. Since these simple sugars will all enter your bloodstream at once at a very quick rate, your blood sugar levels will elevate very quickly.
In an attempt to bring your sugar levels down your body releases insulin, which causes a hormonal imbalance within your body. When this hormonal imbalance happens your body will excrete a higher amount of sebum (oily substance) within the skin’s pores. This increase in sebum produced by your body creates the perfect environment for trapping dirt, dead skin and acne causing bacteria within your pores. This causes the pore to become infected which leads to acne.
Eating foods with preservatives, additives, or food dyes can also cause acne as your body considers these types of foods to be toxins. Your body will then try to get rid of these toxins any way possible, most will go through your digestive tract however some will be pushed out through your pores. When this happens it allows for the same conditions to have bacteria and dirt to clog and infect these pores.
